5 Areas of Hearing:  We need God’s help!!!

2. There are times when we just need a compass in life
3. Acts 10:20—Peter & Cornelius—salvation to the Gentiles
4. Acts 9:15—Ananias was afraid to minister to Saul

3. ______________—God giving us insight to help us avoid negative experiences
1. John 10:4-5
2. Mt. 2:12—The Wise Men warned to avoid Herod
3. Acts 16:6—Paul & Silas ______________ to go to Asia
4. Mt. 2:13-14—Mary & Joseph warned to flee to Egypt
5. 2 Kings 6:8-12—Elisha heard from God to protect Israel
6. Many people have had bad things happen because they did not listen to God’s voice

 

4. ______ & Assistance—sometimes we need help getting out of a mess
1. James 1:5—God wants to help us!!!
2. Ex. 17:6—God showed Moses how to get water
3. Gen. 41—God showed Joseph of an upcoming famine and how to prepare
4. Acts 27:23—God spoke to Paul how to survive an upcoming shipwreck

5. ___________________—sometimes we just need God to pick us up!
1. 2 Cor. 12:9—God said to Paul—“My grace is sufficient for you”
2. Gen. 15:1—God to Abram—“Do not be afraid, I am your shield and exceedingly great reward”
3. Sometimes the ones you normally count on to pick you up just don’t get it done. . .(1 Sam. 30:6—David encouraged ___________ in the Lord)

 

This life can be very complicated:

• Decisions, finances, work, relationships, family, trying to please God
• The fact is—we are not meant to do this alone!

We have been given the Holy Spirit—Our __________

We have been given the ability to hear from God—who is willing and able to speak to us
