What to Expect on your First Visit
Parking: Ushers will be throughout the parking lot to help monitor and maintain the parking. Feel free to use our portico to drop off your family before parking your car. We do offer special parking for the handicapped, senior citizens, expectant mothers, or families with small children. Just let one of our ushers know, and they will be able to guide you to these designated spots.
Entering the Church: You will be greeted at the door by one of our church members. Church bulletins and sermon outlines will be handed to you at the front door. As you walk into the church, you will enter our foyer. Our restrooms, welcome center, and coffee area are all located in the foyer.
Welcome Center: At the Welcome Center you will be able to find everything you need. It is where you can find the visitor packs, prayer request forms, CD order forms, or any general information.
All visitor packs will contain information on our ministries we offer, a bit of our history at Soul Harvest, and an extra sermon by Pastor Matt on CD.
You will also be able to fill out an information card at the Welcome Center. This is simply a way for us to have record of your attendance and to thank you for attending.
Children’s Ministry(PreK-6th grade): Children will be able to be dropped off for children’s church, “the Studio,” prior to the service starting. The Studio’s entry is in the back of the sanctuary. Volunteers will be available to help direct parents and children as needed.
Our children’s ministry is active and high-energy, but is focused on teaching the Word of God. Each children’s service includes their own praise and worship, craft, game, and Bible lesson.
Parents can pick up their children immediately following the service. If you aren’t sure where to go to pick up your child, feel free to ask one of our volunteers.
We at Soul Harvest Church work hard to make sure your child feels comfortable going to children’s church, sometimes the first few times coming they may seem reluctant. Kids are welcome to sit with parents until they feel more comfortable going to children’s church.
Infants & Toddlers: Our nursery is located in the foyer. You can check your child in before the service begins. When you check your child in, you and your child will be assigned a number and you will receive a security claim tag. Please do not lose this card. This card acts as a security claim tag to insure that no one without your permission will be able to remove your child from the nursery. We ask that you do not send older siblings to pick up your child unless arrangements have been made with the nursery volunteer.
Our nursery is fully staffed by trained volunteers.
Praise & Worship: We start each service with praise and worship. We utilize contemporary songs, as well as the occasional hymn.
We encourage our members to enjoy the worship and feel free to clap, sing, and lift their hands in worship. Lifted hands are an international sign of victory and of surrender. What a wonderful way to express our gratitude toward a Wonderful, Loving God!
Our praise team includes vocals, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, drums and keyboard.
Greeting Time: After praise and worship, the congregation takes a few minutes to share love and greetings with one another.
Formalities: Pastor Matt will bring a general welcome to the congregation followed by our weekly confession: God is good; His Word is true; and It works in your life! There will be a prayer over the service and some general announcements.
Sermon: Most Sundays everyone will receive a copy of the sermon outline when entering the church. Pastor Matt will teach and/or preach the message of the day with the goal being to present God’s Word in a way everyone can understand it and apply it to their daily lives. Most messages are taught over the course of 3-4 weeks in order to help everyone have a working knowledge of the subject.
Prayer & Ministry: At the end of each service, prayer and ministry will be available toward the front of the church for anyone desiring to be ministered to. We will be utilizing a team to pray with you and minister to your needs. If you need further prayer or counseling please contact the church office and make an appointment.
Offering: At Soul Harvest Church we take the offering in a non-traditional way. Wooden boxes are set up throughout the sanctuary and people can give at their discretion coming in or going out. We do take a minute during the formalities to teach God’s Word concerning finances, but do not seek to pressure anyone or use manipulation tactics of any kind for the purpose of raising money.
